In the heart of Cuenca, a group of dedicated individuals has been quietly making a profound difference for nearly eight years. Proyecto Fundación Accisol, led by organizer Alexandra Avila de Pozo, is a collective driven by the simple yet powerful motto: "MANOS QUE DAN, RECIBEN" (Hands that give, receive). This community-supported social aid organization is a crucial lifeline for some of the city's most vulnerable residents. They constantly post about different cases of children in need who may have health situations or other dire needs due to tragic family situations, showing how their work directly impacts lives.
Accisol works through a model of self-management and community support, acting as a trusted channel for donations and resources. The group is currently running a critical campaign to help children from low-income families prepare for the new school year. For many, a new backpack and a full list of school supplies are simple expectations, but for these children, they can be an insurmountable financial obstacle. Without the necessary materials, their education is at risk.
This campaign aims to provide these children with the supplies they need to continue their studies, giving them a fair chance at a brighter future.
